Below is a list of frequently asked questions regarding the sacristan ministry. We hope that you will prayerfully consider joining our ministry!

What does a sacristan do?
As Sacristan, we have three main roles: Security–(of the sacristy and church), Mass Set Up and Clean Up,

Mass set up and clean up  At every mass, you are responsible for setting up for both Liturgy of the Word and Liturgy of the Eucharist which means preparing all the books, vessels, offertory, and incense when appropriate.

Which Mass am I assigned to? You can either help on a weekday at one of the Masses or at one of the Sunday masses perhaps every two to three weeks.

What it the time committment? On a weekday it means coming to church thirty minutes before Mass begins and on a Sunday about forty five minutes before Mass. A sacristan locks the church after Mass.

Is there preparation? Yes, there are experienced sacristans around to guide and support.

How can I become a sacristan? Please speak to one of the sacristans or Fr Stephen
